The MARKERVILLE CREAMERY MUSEUM is a glimpse into the past of this scenic Icelandic settlement. Built in 1902 and restored to its 1932 appearance, the creamery remains the "hub" of this tiny community. Costumed interpreters offer guided tours during the spring and summer season. Visitors also enjoy the "Kaffistofa" coffee shop featuring Icelandic food and great tasting ice cream.
Located in the Hamlet of Markerville located off secondary highways 592 and 781 30 minutes southwest of Red Deer, 15 minutes northwest of Innisfail, 20 minutes southwest of Sylvan Lake

Cormack Armoury Historic Military Display May 30, 3-9pm & May 31 12-6pm
Come see a display of military weapons, vehicles and other equipment that chronicles the involvement of the Canadian Forces in Red Deer. Banners will be set up for the public to sign as a way of showing support to the local members of the 78 Field Battery currently in Afghanistan.

Dickson Store Museum & Cemetery Tours Open Monday – Saturday 10am-5:30pm, Sundays 12:30-5:30pm
Take a quick trip to Dickson and tour this 1930s general store museum with restored living quarters upstairs Foothills ice cream ($2) and candies. Then take a tour through the Dickson Cemetery and learn the history of its famous and not-so-famous citizens. Interpreters are always available to guide tours, or you can wander around and see the sites for yourself.
Location: Dickson Store Museum - from Innisfail, take highway 54 west to Spruce View then south about 3.5 km to Dickson.

Historic Fort Normandeau Interpretive Centre (Saturday, May 31, 2008)
Historic Fort Normandeau's Interpretive Centre Open Daily Noon – 5pm, Grounds open 8am – 10pm, or dusk
A replica of the original Fort, utilizing some original logs, was built by the R.C.M.P. in 1974 at the Red Deer Crossing - the gateway between northern and southern Alberta prior to the railway's arrival connecting Edmonton and Calgary in 1891.
Rich with history, the Interpretive Centre was added in 1986. Experience the Fort through slide shows, tours, and demonstrations. Pack a lunch and picnic at this beautiful location or launch your canoe and journey through the Waskasoo Park river system, the Fort and Interpretative Centre awaits your arrival.

Class of 2008: Central Alberta High School Arts Exhibit
This annual exhibit features student work ranging from sculpture, drawing, and painting; the broad spectrum of the visual arts is very well represented. These young students represent the next generation of artists.
The Canadian Story: Ceramics by Brian McArthur Exhibit
This exhibition celebrates the beginning of Canada and its fur trading roots, with whimsical works that specifically look at David Thompson and his important role in the fur trade.
